Important Things to Know

Tool Lists
All students, regardless of their financial aid status, are required to purchase their tools prior to classes beginning. Students may obtain their tool list by visiting their respective majors website.

Verification
Verification is a process the Department of Education uses to make sure that the information reported on the FAFSA is accurate. Some applications are selected because of inconsistent information and others are chosen at random. For files that are selected, the Financial Aid Office requests copies of the student’s and parents' federal tax returns along with completion of the verification form. The Financial Aid Office compares information on the tax returns to the FAFSA and corrects errors. The family is notified of corrections made and the effect any changes have on the student’s aid eligibility.

Suggested Lenders List
Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has created a list of "Suggested Lenders" based on their ability to provide students with the following benefits:

   - Highly competitive interest rates, terms, and/or conditions for student loans.

- High-quality servicing prior, during and after a student’s enrollment

- Additional benefits beyond the standard terms and conditions for such loans.

Students do have the right to select other lenders than those on our list; however processing time and customer service may vary and cannot be guaranteed. Our office nor the College receive any sort of benefit by putting these lenders on our list.
