HONORS STUDENT ATHLETES

College of Technology Students To Be Recognized at
the Annual Athletic Awards Banquet

 

Lancaster, PA -- Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology will honor several student athletes Tuesday evening at the school’s annual Athletic Awards Banquet.  Each athlete that completed a season will be recognized.  First year athletes received a certificate, chenille letter and pin.  Second year athletes received a plaque with their sport, name and years of participation. The Athletic Awards Banquet will be held in the Jones Dining Area beginning at 6:00 pm on the campus of Thaddeus Stevens College.

The Richard V. Bevilacqua Award is presented to the most outstanding sophomore athlete and the John C. Stauffer Award is presented to the sophomore contributing the most to athletics.  The winners of these prestigious athletic awards are nominated by the Athletic Association.

Stevens maintains an athletic program of five major intercollegiate sports. They are football, cross-country, basketball, wrestling, and track and field. Contests are scheduled against college and university junior varsity teams and junior and community colleges in the mid Atlantic states. The cross-country, wrestling, and track and field programs are presently affiliated with the National Junior College Athletic Association. These affiliations allow Stevens’ athletes to compete in regional and national competition when qualifying standards are met. The basketball team is member in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference and the football squad in the Seaboard Conference.
