The Thaddeus Stevens football team competes in the Seaboard Conference along with Valley Forge Military Academy, George Mason University, Williamson Trade School and newest member, Radford University. The Battling Bulldogs play a ten game schedule, including non-league games with Alfred State of New York, Delaware Valley, and University of St. Francis, Walter Reed and West Point Prep.
Fall 2007 Coaches and Staff
Coach Joe Wysock , after nine years as an Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Stevens is now Head Coach. He is assisted by a very experienced staff that includes Rob Monzon, Offensive Line Coordinator; Matt Zahm, Running Backs Coach; and Paul Culbreth, Wide Receivers Coach. Doug Kopp, Defensive Backs Coach and Defensive Coordinator, is assisted by a very capable staff that includes Joe Ganse, Defensive Line Coach; John Kopp, Inside Linebackers Coach; and Tony Miller, Outside Linebackers Coach. Additional support staff consists of: Debra Carter, Athletic Director; Mark Bleacher, Strength and Conditioning Coach; Phil York, Team Statistician and Equipment Manager; and Renee Rieker, Athletic Trainer.
Last Season's Results
In 2007, the Thaddeus Stevens' football team completed its ninth straight winning season, finishing with a 7-3 record. The 2007 season, also saw Stevens well represented on the All League team. Defensive participants of the first team were: Linebackers Josh Cherish and David Diggs; Defensive Backs Alex Jones and Andrew Jenkins; Defensive Linemen Kevin Mosely and Donald Harrison. In addition, Harrison was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference. Offensive participants of the first team were: Wide Receiver Kaleb Kloskey; Fullback Kyle Ritter; and Punter Trent Snyder. Trent was also nominated All Purpose Player of the Year. Second team offense players included Kyle Bennett, Alex Jones, Terry Gatson, Josh Spiroff, and Bradley Sheffler. Second team defensive players included Thomas Poole and Aaron Schweibenz.
