Vision

The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Mentoring will provide leadership in creating and sustaining a campus climate that promotes racial, ethnic, cultural, and gender diversity, and will continue to partner with the community and businesses to foster collaboration.

Mission

The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Mentoring is dedicated to the principles of its benefactor, Thaddeus Stevens, who believed in the dignity, civil rights, and value of each human being regardless of race, sex, religion, or heritage. We believe in the worth and potential of each student and strive to enhance student success by creating a climate that implements educational, cultural, and social programs that will assist in recruiting, retaining, and graduating students. The office is committed to creative leadership that fosters and enriches campus diversity with a goal of promoting cultural understanding and positive relationships that supports student success.

What Do We Do?

The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides support services for diverse populations. These services help students utilize college resources to further their life goals and thus enhance their personal growth and development. In doing so, the office promotes a welcoming, sensitive, supportive, comfortable, and relevant environment for all students' needs. The office serves as a pivotal referral network, an information and resource base, and a link between the college, all students, and the greater Lancaster community. As a resource base, the Office of Multicultural Affairs provides individualized information and referral services for student requests, complaints, and grievances, while also offering academic, educational, social, and cultural programming designed to improve the academic performance and retention of all students. Finally, the office assists all students in conflict/problem resolution so that they can participate more effectively in college life.
