Developmental Education Courses
Students who have not demonstrated essential skills in basic competencies (reading, mathematics, and written expression) on the placement evaluation must take specialized developmental courses (numbered 001–099) before enrolling in regular English and math courses. Students must attain at least a “C” grade before registering for higher level courses.
Students with deficiencies will be scheduled for remedial courses during their first semester or during a summer session. Developmental courses may not replace any required or elective general education or technical courses needed as a degree requirement. Grades from these developmental courses will not be used in calculating a student’s GPA on a transcript.
